There are many explanations on why there isnt any glass in the picture when tarzan looks at it. But I can only think of one!
Animals like to go into different places that seem to be destroyed or where no one is in. Animals run. Animals destroy things. Obviously, an animal took the glass out of the picture, and committed suicide!!! lol, jk about the suicide part. But the picture was probably moved around a lot, which would cause the glass to fall out and go through a crack or something. Simple logic. But you also have to remember that this is just a movie. People forget things. Obviously the artists forgot to add in the broken glass.
When Tarzan went to the treehouse with Kala he stepped on the picture. In case you didn't hear there was a crunching sound of glass. That means the glass was crushed between the picture and the floor and when he picked up the picture the glass stayed on the floor. So the artists didn't forget; it was put in there, you just must have not noticed.
