Dazed and Confused - Car Running, or Not?
When Pickford, Pink, Don, and Mitch stopped at the store to pick up the beer pay attention. When they come out of the store and get in the car, the car is not running. Then when the guy with the gun tells them to get out of the car, Pink says "just go, man". Don pulls the car into gear, and Pickford floors it and they take off. That would be kind of hard when the car was not even running. Whoops!!

I don't think this is a slip-up for the simple reason that I have a older car that you can't hear run unless I am rolling down the street so i think it is possible that this might be also the same for the "judge" in this movie.

The car is running the whole time, it's just quiet, but you can still hear it in the background. Also, check this one out. When they pull up, and they are getting out of the car to go into the store, right when Pickford opens his door, look at it closely. You can see the reflection of the camera guy wearing a white shirt.

If you notice they said that they were gonna steal the beer before they go in...why would they stop the car if they were going to run afterwards...though he bought the beer.

Listen close in the background...throughout the entire scene, you can hear the car idling.
