When Homer is at his illegally parked car and he tries to "reach" to the pizza place without leaving his car, his watch appears and disappears several times.

As mentioned, things will appear (only) when needed on the show. For instance, Homer usually is not shown with a watch unless he needs to look at the time. Another thing is that you will not see Marge and Homer wearing their rings unless it is important to the scene. This is simply to make it easier to draw. Most cartoons will not show a great amount of detail. Rather than a "slip up" this is more of the standard.

This happens a lot throughout The Simpsons - watches appear when they are needed, or before if possible, and then disappear when they are not needed anymore, this also happens with pockets on shirts or pants etc, and l ight switches on the walls.
