Kevin buys Tide and various other items while at the store in Home Alone. At the end of the movie when he finally is reunited with his mom he tells her he bought fabric softener. He didn't, he bought TIDE.
OK how would he even know the difference between fabric softener and regular detergent?? I mean when I was eight I probably didn't know and didn't care.

If you notice after he buys all the Items including the Tide when He's walking home and the bag breaks and everything falls on the gound..the Tide is not there!

Have you noticed that he's 8 in this movie, 10 in the second movie, and in the second one his mom said "this same thing happened LAST year" wouldn't he be 9???

Doesn't anyone realize that Tide is not a Fabric softener? That is why this is a slip-up, not for any other reason! I guess if you all don't even realize that, then an 8 year old probably doesn't either.

I think if an eight-year-old child can manipulate physics with all his little traps in the house, he can tell the difference between fabric conditioner and whatever it was?

my brother is not even 2 and he could say fabric softener! i was capable also at that age. but really, why would anyone care at that age, even at eight! most eight year olds don't go to the grocery store alone to buy it anyway.

You have to take into account that the boy is eight! When I was eight, I probably couldn't even say fabric softner. You expect too much out of a child!
